probably after the invasion which began in 1492, all but the English immigrants spoke other languages, and before your ancestors came to my peoples land we spoke different languages anyway

Never, I should say not yet, maybe some day America will be a nation but as of today America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.
It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.

What did we sell? Are you referencing that foreigners own property here? What is wrong with that? It's not like if we have a fight they can take it back to their own country. They are the ones taking all the risks here. The language has always been mixed as we are a nation of LEGAL immigrants, but English has been the unspoken official language. This needs to be enacted into law. I would think the environmentalist would take up this cause. For every different language we have to print, we are killing another tree.

America was a blended nation from the begining. It was the basses of it's formation. That here people could come no matter what their culture or creed and live in peace. Now that is obviously a bit of a fantasy but today we see corprate america selling it's self to the highest bidder. China owns nearly all of our debt. The late 1800's saw an explosion in inventions which allowed this to happen. Tv, steam engins, radio, telephone exe.

Some people's understanding and interpretation of America as a "blended" nation is an illusion. Read this short article:

America started being blended when whites began interbreeding with Indians & African slaves. When was that? Maybe around 1700.
