Have you ever felt as if some one thinks your weird? Although you are just simply being nice...
My boss's wife is a nice person to a certain extent, in a way I look up to her as a person I would like to be (character wise) in the future when I manage my own business. The thing is I get the impression that she thinks that I'm weird; either that or she thinks of herself too highly.
She is friends with almost every one in the office even to a personal level, and i'm really not trying to be her "friend" I just simply want to get along with her.
I notice that when she is around me she is a little fakey. I was told by my boss that it was his daughter's first B-day so I thought it would be nice to a congratulate her on her first year as a mother but when I called I noticed her being civil and not friendly. I have been with the company for 6 months, I'm not really a stranger and for sure I'm not persistant, Im not TRYING to be best friends.

I would like to thank you all for your great advice... I know I shouldnt take it personally, I just hate it when some-one doesnt like me for no good reason. That IS one of my flaws I tend to worry too much about how people feel about me and I should just learn to let go. :0(

dont take it personally. first of all , no one can get along with everyone. its human nature to form opinions easy and then changing them is hard. sometimes you dont know someone but for some unknown reason you dont like them and you cant explain it. but in any case , my advice , just be normal and dont fake being anyone but yourself. what opinion she has of you is up to her and you cant do anything about that. maybe with time she will soften up or maybe its nothing and you just feel this way ...in any case , put it out of your head and things may get better on their own. just dont make it an issue to yourself and let it bother you too much. (i know easier said than done) but practice and good luck to you

If she seems like she is a little distant try backing off a little bit(without avoiding her). Try waiting for her to approach you, and she might seem more comfortable/friendly. It also could be that she takes some time to get friendly with people.

Being yourself is definitely the way to go. If you think she is a nice person, chances are this is just a temporary awkwardness.

This is going to happen no matter where you go. That what you just described is just human behavior. The best thing to do is don't combine work with life. Make work, work and your friends only your job friends. And make your personal life just that personal. Play the "office politics"game, but don't take anything to heart.

You must ask her, dear. Maybe she's a little jealous of your position- thus proximity to your boss. Conversing would help surely.
