Easy,
become a lyricist or a writer of music.
Rock stars do not always write their own music. So, they need someone who can deliver the lyrics and the notes on the bars to play. If you get famous enough, rock stars all over will ask for you to write them a song and you will become famous, but only as much as you want too. The funny thing, is that you will have it better for you will not need to get on stage but can perform your work in your own studio, and you will always get paid for your music, while the musician can only get paid playing it.
Successful writers of music have the best careers in the industry when it comes to managing being famous with having a private life.
So write. Develop something to say and make the lyrics. Learn how to play any instrument. All you need is oneinstrument,piano violin flute, to figure out the notes for the sheetmusic.
Then learn how to write the notes and the particulars of musical notation.

Some of the best 'rock stars' have bad voices but write amazing lyrics.

The only thing you can do is dress in a straight jacket, be locked in a cage on stage like Punk Rock Dave from Glamour Punks.

judging from the talents of other rock stars singing or playing doesn't seem to be a requirement....just dress trashy, lots of black, piercings and rail against anything normal, hate your parents, the U.S. and screw anything male or female that comes within reach...and oh, don't forget lots of drugs, drinking and screeching into the microphone. you do all that and you will be famous beyond your dreams.

You really can't, unless you're skinny, good looking, and can lip sync.

You can still write lyrics or dress like a 'rockstar'.
You can wear band t-shirts, guitar pick earrings, different necklaces (with different lengths), wear ripped jeans, converse all star shoes, leather bracelets, etc. But, it's totally up to you.
