I think it's a good idea b/c alot of people don't even know they have HIV and they should also do the same thing with the Hep. C virus!!!!!!!!!!! ALOT of people have Hep. C and have no symptoms so they don't know they have it either.

STUPID STUPID STUPID. Reminds me of when the HIV crisis became really newsworthy, and churches were handing out condoms to their parishioners. I recall seeing these old codgers grabbing a few from the offering plates they were circulating in--and wondering what their wives said when they got home.

Not everyone is at risk for contracting HIV, (At least that is what the government has been telling us!) so why would everyone need to be tested? I have had sexual relations with only my wife, and she only with me, so why would we be considered at risk? It makes no sense at all for this recommendation unless they are not telling us the rest of the story----either:
1) HIV can be contracted other than by sexual activity with infected partners; or
2) HIV strains have mutated so that they are much more virulent than previously reported.

It's very good idea. If they're testing for HIV they should test for other diseases too like when your giving blood. Hopefully they've thought about this too.

since we don't have a practical cure and the virus can't be vaccinated with current technology due to the number of strands and frequency of mutation.. i say test everyone! it's the best way to prevent the spread of the virus at this time..

I don't see it being a big deal. Granted, as a monogomous married, heterosexual person who does not use i.v. drugs, my risk is pretty low, but I don't see anything wrong with annual screening.
