Well,if you have a degree or something like that you can work as an english teacher. As you've probably noticed they all speak english. In Crete there are a lot of private foreign language schools that have need of native speakers so as to improve the level of studies provided.More than 90% of the kids in Greece start learning english at the age of 6.Living in Crete is great and cheap. In places like Rethimno or Aghios Nicolaos you can rent a house for less than250 euros per month.Good Luck!!

Hello dear! You are correct! Being on vacations on Crete, is the best reward for life and present to ourselves!
Working in Crete is different than vacationing in Crete, although, as you know, it is superb to live in Crete!
In order for anyone to assist you, you should give some info regarding what need you think you need! Like: type of work!

As you must have already noticed, Crete lives mainly on tourism; therefore, it you want to work there, you should deal with something that has to do with tourism, like working in a hotel or in a travel agency or in a car rental company, at a restaurant, a fast food, a souvlaki stand, even in a grocery shop; it depends on your mother tongue.
If you qualify, you could work as a foreign languages teacher, as a translator or an interpreter.
Of course, you can always work in the agricultures, which brings you absolutely close to Cretan nature, but it is a very hard work.
You can rent a two-room flat in a good condition at approx. 350€ per month.
But do bare in mind that living on Crete has almost nothing to do with being on Crete for holidays...
In winter it is very lonely!
