My wife had endometriosis and had one tube removed. We're trying to get pregnant. She has not gotten her period. She is feeling sick. We took pregnancy tests, but they've come up negative. She is 4 days late, today. Thanks in advance!

The problem with the home pregnancy tests is that they do not know the exact day that a woman ovulated. They will tell you that you can test before your missed period or the day after your missed period to get a good result. The truth is, that they are basing this on the average woman with the average cycle. I have 3 children. With each one of them I took more then 4 tests before I got a real clear positive. It sounds like you have a good shot at being pregnant. If she still hasn't received her period have her take another test in the morning. Make sure that it is the first morning urine that you use to test b/c the hormone that the test is picking up will be much higher in the morning since she has eaten or drank anything in a while. Also, there are some tests that are better then others. You can go to http://www.craigmedical.com/pregnancy_chart.htm
To get a list of some of the best pregnancy tests. The test that pick up the lower amounts of hormone level (like say 25 instead of 100 or so) are the better tests to buy early on.

Best of luck!

The problem with home pregnancy tests is that you can't use them right away and get an accurate result. Even the doctor's tests are best taken after the missed period. I knew I was pregnant from day 1, but had to wait a while month before using a test... and when you're anxious and excited you just can't wait that long!

Either she's getting a negative result because her hCG levels aren't high enough yet, or she isn't pregnant. It is also possible to get a false negative, so it really is best that she has a test done at the doctor's office.

There are many reasons why someone misses a period and the stress of trying to get pregnant may contribute aswell. Most pregnancy tests are very reliable.

If she is preg the test can come up neg b/c she doesn't have enough of the hormone that the test checks for. 1st- she should use her morning pee to do the test cause thats when those hormone levels are the highest. 2nd- wait a week before doing another test. 3rd- if not preg she should check her basal body temp every morning. When it goes up this indicates she is ovulating and you should try to get preg then.

I would give it a couple of more days and if she still has not started but the test shows neg. Than you should make a doctors appointment to have a blood test done.

Just hold off a bit. She could be late, or it could be stress. It can get stressful trying to have a baby, especially the longer you go without getting pregnant. My advice to you...stop "trying" to get pregnant. By that I mean, stop stressing over it and just make love. Passionate love. Do the bubble bath, massage, loving/cuddling thing. Before you know it, she will be pregnant. But as long as your "trying" to get pregnant, it wont happen. You two are placing each other under too much stress.

Could be to early to tell from a pregnancy test. There is only one that claims it can read five days before your next period, I'd try that one, and/or go to my Doctor. I think it's EPT, go to the store and read the boxes to find the right one, GOOD LUCK!
