i work in a games store in the uk, and the preorders are going FAST, and i mean really fast. the stores also don't know what their allocation is going to be, so the sooner you preorder the better so that you're not disappointed. no official deposits are being taken at the moment either.

If the pre-order is available online and make the pre-order, then you are guaranteed a Wii on launch day! Check frequently on these sites:
www.walmart.com
www.circuitcity.com
www.bestbuy.com
www.ebgames.com

if u pre=order you'll be on the 'list'. i.e. whoever pre-orders first gets a console first. however, if lots of people pre-order, and nintendo do not ship enough you'll have to wait til they do. this happened with the xbox 360, - they just did not make enoguh. but iguess nintendo will have learnt .

I know they do this with consoles, but are you that desperate for one?

Sounds like a con to me.

I wouldn't pay up front, no matter how good the games are.
