Is there a term for this? My friends tell me that I notice everything...and I do. I haven't looked this up because I'm afraid of what I may find.

yes ive been called that too....and yes i do observe...particulaly people..i like to read people and try to understand what they are thinking from their facial expressions...its very interesting...funny and useful in life..and im very accurate too. There is nothing wrong with it.it helps u get well with people cause u know and understand them well.
But what did ur friends mean ...?someone had called me"too watchful"and it was not from someone i am very close too nor respect..so i took it in a negative way..and stayed out of their way and refrained from making innocent remarks about stuff...

but if they are friends..its good cause if they mean it in a good way..its a complement, if they mean it in a bad way, its constructive criticism...personally i think its good to be observant than to be someone who is totally unaware of his surroundings.hope this helps

oh my goodness my friends tell me the same thing. they aint nothing wrong with you...its a good thing that we are overly observant...otherwise we wouldnt see the world around us as it is. we would just see what is in front of us...what we can get the best of...we see people around us and know what they are like. i think everyone should be over observant because then people wouldnt care about just themselves and this world would be a better place.
