It is like opening our mind to all ideas and temptations. If we fall prey to temptations and vices, we will be ruined and if we can make use of the ideas and influences that float around due to liberalisation positively and for a purpose- they will take us to great heights. In our country, we, as people, politcal system and economic structure, are not yet ripe for absorbing the shocks of liberalising the economy and society. Had we tuned up our economy from the beginning to leberalise our economy some day in future, we would have made good the opportunities thrown by liberalisation. In the present form, 1. liberalisation decimated domestic small and tiny industries 2. widened urban-rural, inter-regional and inter-personal disaparities 3. strengthened the hands of the rich and big capitalists and lot of foreign investment entered the country that enslaves our people to foreign stuff, thinking, etc. 4. Gave people wider access to junk food, junk drinks, filthy channels and made our youth believe that being amoral is the culture. 5.more and more mothers are giving birth to children who are crying 'America America' on being born instead of Amma, Amma (mother). 6. it made people think more about themeselves even at the cost of the society. and the list continues. There are benefits too. For example we now have many products, comforts in life which we could not have even dreamt of. We have excellant mobile communication and young boys are using to harass girls, youngsters are able to exchange calls, text messages and love. And business people are able to enhance their business.
