It is something we have ALL done. No matter the reason for it , it's still a lie. And therefore still wrong. It is hard to say if it's better to tell a white lie or to hurt someones feelings.

Well you might state the ninth commandment says
NOT TO LIE.
Isn't a little lie like a white lie> both misleading to give a false presentation or impression?
Maybe exaggeration isn't really so bad. If one knows you are doing it. I am so hungry I could eat a cow-hooves, hide and all!

black, yellow, green, blue,red, or even white, a lie is still a lie. no matter what color you paint them lies almost always make things worse.

no its horrible....and if you are friends with someone who does this or In a relationship (like i am with my husband) it really starts to break you down and your trust. after awhile you think everything told to you is a lie and then you start to think.."well, if they can lie about little things, then what BIG things are they lying to me about?" its not ok.

There is always a place to be kind rather than honest. Limiting the instance of it, is a measure of integrity.

I think so, its sometimes better than hurting somebody unnecessarily with the truth.

lying is bad, however, sometimes it's needed in order not to hurt someone.
