one of my friends did, and I was very upset with her for that. I think it's wrong to knowingly infect the other person. Every one should be using condoms anyway to protect against STDs and unwanted pregnancies, but if you know you have a STD, you should especially use protection and tell you partner about it.

Are you crazy? Having unprotected sex with an STD is just plain wrong. Think of all the women who may become infected with a virus that you helped pass. Do you want to be responsible for some girls death from cervical cancer? Knowingly passing a STD is punishable by law as well.
And as for "he's a jerk, let him have it."
Nice girls have sex with jerks all the time. Think about them before you get vengeful. You never know who you might hurt in the process. It could even be someone close to you. Do the right thing, it will come back to you one day.
