It was reported in the news that a two year old boy died of ecoli after eating spinach. What is a toddler doing eating spinach??? I don't know of any toddlers enjoying snacking on a spinach leaf!!! I am starting to wonder if these spinach reports are getting out of hand. Do you know of any two year olds that would eat spinach???

Were talking about 2 year old here not an infant. A 2 year can eat pretty much everything an adult can. I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old and they both eat spinach. They also eat cabbage, broccoli, corn, lima beans, carrots, all types of vegetables. They also love to eat salads!

My daughter just turned two this month and she has been eating spinach for almost a year now i also give her broccoli and cauliflower and all kinds of veggies of course i don't feed her these vegetables raw i cook them so they can be soft. My other two kids used to eat veggies but when they started attending school and all the kids would comment on how awful veggies were, my kids changed their eating habits and now don't like eating veggies.

My daughter is 10, but has always LOVED veggies. She's loved eating spinach, lettuce, cauliflower and broccoli her whole life. Her favorite snack has always been cauliflower or broccoli dipped in ranch dressing. I don't find a 2 year old eating spinach to be too unusual.

I know it is different, but I believe the news. My son started eating canned spinach when he was 3, and in fact ask for it when we are in the store, and my daughter started loving raw broccoli when she was 2.

I have no idea what this news report is, perhaps I should check the US news...

But what is wrong with a child liking spinach?
Not all children hate vegetables, in fact I have a hard time getting my son to eat meat...

lots of toddlers will eat spinach. to me, thats good parenting - getting kids intrested in veggies and eating healthy, and now you have to start them on the lifestyle early. What do you think toddlers ate back in the days before jars of baby food?

i'm not sure about the spinach but i knew a lady who only gave her daughter veggies, and this little girl loved snow peas. she would eat them right out of the bag, and get excited when she saw them at the store. so i guess it just depends on what the parents give the kid.

My baby cousin would always eat his vegetables from a young age, even those his mother wouldn't eat. She got him accustomed to his veggies while he was young so now he likes to eat them.

The way that you prepare veggies could have an impact on how much children are willing to eat them. I for one really don't like eating typical American-style veggies like broccoli, green beans, carrots, celery, etc. It seems like they're usually raw, boiled, or steamed or something and they just end up being real bland and flavorless. However, I love eating veggies cooked in Chinese food, like napa cabbage, bok choy, snow peas, Chinese broccoli, pea sprouts, etc. I also dislike eating raw tomatoes and squashes, but I love them cooked in Italian foods.
