My husband and I and his bestfriend were in a Triangle several years ago. We have all stayed good friends. The best friend and i are closer friends, but not more than that.
He told me once when he was drunk that his feelings for me scared him, another time he told me he wanted me to leave my husband.
When I confront him with these issues now he just says I must have been drinking.
He gets real nervous when we talk and even worse when we go to lunch or something.
He also told me once he had to "shelf" his feelings for me.
Can anyone decipher this?

Sorry but I had to chuckle at this one. Please don't take offense for it wasn't at u.My ex is an alcoholic, and during the breakdown of our relationship when he was drunk,I was the most beautiful wonderful sweet woman that ever existed. Within 2 mins I was the worst. I had always been told growing up that peopel say what they really feel when they are drinking.I actually believe they say everything on their mind,some gets jumbled up and some, well, who knows. In experiences that I or someone close in my family have had usually men tell the truth when they have been drinking. I would seriously evaluate my friendship with him so that it doesnt cause hardships in my marriage. The reason your husband is probably not as close to this friend is because the friend has tried to draw inward somewhat because of his feelings. I would also take his nervousness etc into consideration because that right there ought to tell you that there is some truth to what he has told you while he was drinking

You are being unfaithful to your husband by even having these thoughts. These are questions you should not even be considering. My advise - Get rid of this "friend" because he is not nor will he ever be good for your marriage. If you are not willing to do that then be honest with your husband and ask him for a divorce because you will never be faithful to him and your marriage. The issue here is not this other man it it YOU!

Sometime when people drink they do somewhat confess true feelings but they also may not be aware of their thoughts either.It does'nt mean that he's lying he may have these feelings for you.But don't tell him of this because he may feel a little uncomfortable and try to blame the liquor for what he was saying just watch his body language around you and you should get your message loud and clear.

Sounds like he lies drunk and sober...Some guys will tell you what ever they think they need to in order to get you into bed. Call him up and tell him you left your husband and are on your way to tell his wife about the two of you...he will freak out and probably get real mad, then you can tell him you are only kidding, but you do not like your emotions messed with and for him to leave you alone, for good....

Men are liars most of the time. But they lie more when drunk. If they say things or ask things that are serious they use the I was drunk or that was just bar room talk. but yes they lie more when they are drinking or when they need you to something for them ( not sex).

He is telling you hown he really feels. These emotions are being supressed until he gets drunk and then he can't keep them in.
Letting his feelings out is a way of lifting a burden, although only temporary.
