Oxford University is one of the best Universities in the world, not just near London. Same with another little known University in the area.........Cambridge University.

That depends entirely on your definition of 'near'. If you are choosing London as a place to stay and to commute to the 'nearest' university - then you can pretty much forget Oxford and Cambridge. London has it's fair share of good universities - LSE, Kings College, Imperial College, University College London and University of the Arts London. I would suggest, that you first consider your choosen subject, THEN look for the ideal university. It's what you learn, not where you learn it (unless of course your parents are like mine and won't go for anything less than Oxford or Cambridge)
