*smacks him on the head* You actually made me visit that site called "wiki-pe-dee-a" just because I'm not a Brit so I had no idea who Richard Hamond and Noel Edmonds were. Ok so I'm not an Aussie either, but I suppose Steve Irwin was a tad more in the public realm.

First let me say that I just read a huge article about Richard Hamond and his accident the other day. My heart goes out to him and his family. However, the good news is that today he took his first steps and he seems to be conversing well with family and friends. I so loved this quote and wanted to share it. It comes from his partner James May who was originally supposed to be driving the car. He says.........

"I was chuffed to see him and although he's muttering, he seems much like the irritating little **** I know and love. Even when he can't say much, he seemed to make as much sense as he does when he can talk normally...Having seen him today I do believe Richard will make a full recovery from this awful crash and, when he's back on his feet, I'm looking forward to going down to the pub with him."

Now.....to answer your question.

Noel Edmonds looks to be a man that is just able to comment on life. But does he really live it? That, my friend, is the difference. Irwin and Hamond obviously have to experience life and adventure first hand in order to report back to us what we can expect from adventures. They didn't mind being guinea pigs to risk taking because that would be the only way they would reach fulfillment themselves. I'm sure both knew the chances they were taking each and every time. But life would ONLY be worth living if they were grasping every bit of it and taking it to its limit. Edmonds reports about what everybody else is doing. Such a difference in philosophies. Presenting someone else's adventure could never be as enthralling as reporting on your own. So Edmonds will remain "safe" and in his hideous clothes (have you seen these pictures of the dude???) hidden behind a wall that will protect him in order for us to hear about others..........while those that brought life to reporting are risking their lives.....for us.

They live on the edge. It's unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected. How many times had you watched Steve Irwin that you didn't wince and say "what is he doing?". He lived a dangerous life, it's what made him famous, but ultimately what caused his death was being out of his element and dealing with potentially dangerous creatures.
