I have heard some say antidepressants have that effect on them.
On the other hand, if you are feeling better emotionally, you may be able to have better orgasms.
You won't really know if this particular drug has this effect on you until you "try it out."
Everyone's different so there is not hard and fast rule.
If paxil does interfere with orgasm, you may want to request another treatment. Depends on how much you prefer the treatment or the orgamism.

From my experience (as a medical professional), it seems to be mostly men that suffer this problem in the form of delayed ejaculation. Women seem to do fine with it, although it can affect your libido. Everyone reacts differently. If you feel the Paxil is preventing orgasm, talk to your doctor about a different medication. Nowadays, there are several different classes of anti-depressants (new ones like Wellbutrin, Effexor) and even those within the same class (Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro are all SSRI or serotonin reuptake inhibitors) have different side effects within the same individual. So if it's bothering you enough, try something else.

When I was taking Paxil, I really had a hard time having an orgasm and the ones I did have were very small. I spoke to my Dr. about it and she changed me to Wellbutrin. After the change I wall able to have excellent orgasms again.

Yes. Paxil negatively influences sexual stimulation ability in both men and women. In fact, sexual side effects and weight gain are almost universal in paxil users.

Paxil will also mess with your REM cycle, causing insomnia across the board. It will negatively affect the liver, is shown to cause birth defects, is shown to affect men's sperm, and can cause more severe depression and anxiety. Get the facts on this awful drug from the site below. then, if you decide to keep taking it, you will at least understand what is going on when the side effects kick in.

I can't seem to get to a site on the internet right now to double check the side effects. There should be the side effects listed on the pamphlet that came with your prescription. If you don't have the pamphlet, call any pharmacy, they should be able to list the side effects to you.

If I had to guess, I would probably say yes, because I was taking an antidepressant, and that was one of the side effects.

You probably don't have much of a choice. But yes it could affect you sexually. Antidepression medications are prone to causing that type of thing. You may lose sudden interest and it make take you longer to climax. As if you were becoming impotent. It sucks but there is a solution! Put your man on viagra so he can keep it up longer! hehe
