it all depends on your skin tone; is it pinkish or beige'y? to make sure, take a yellow towel and a blue towel, or yellow and blue paper, & hold it next to your face; look in the mirror: if your skintone seems to blend with the yellow, you have that as your undertone; if it blends with the blue, you have a cool skintone; if it blends with the yellow, you have a warm undertone.this determines the lipcolor..if you have pink-ish skintone, youd look great in a clear red, with a blue undertone; and also some pinks...with the warm, or yellow tone, corals are always nice..again, hold the yellow/blue item next to the lipcolor; do this in magazines, etc. to 'train' your eye to get used to this; the right lipcolor will 'blend' with either the yellow or blue item..then that's what you should wear;I;;m getting long-winded,b ut this works; I was a makeup artist for many years and taught this in all my classes...it's something that will never change and is tried and true...

Usually any color classified as neutral is they way to go with a middle complexion. If you live in a place where you can go into a store like Filenes or Macy's, they are usually lots of help in picking out colors.

I found a color that was perfect! It gave a healthy tint to my lips and it almost looked like I didnt put on lipstick. Its Clinique Black Honey. I know it sounds dark but if you go to the counter and try it I am sure you will be happy with the results.

Go with Mocha Ice, its not dark its a light pinkish/brown color that highlights your lips and adds the perfect touch to it to make your lips stand out. I use it all the time and I have a pale/fair complexion.
