Well since you are on the exstravagant side, and you don't want to hint anything about getting back together, I would say maybe a cruise for ONE or perhaps just a card and maybe a box of her favorite candy and a gift certificate to her favorite place, BUT when you sign the card, don't put LOVE, instead, write, " Your Friend, so and so" and maybe you can write in there also "i'm glad we're still friends" or something of that nature.
{With that being said, a new BMW? What's your phone # ;) (JK)}

If you don't want to get back together, and I'll bet neither does she, what is all this stuff about some extravagant gift? Not that I really believe you ever got her these things. And why ask strangers who don't know either of you? If you're friends, why not ask her? Or, if you're such good friends, why not give her whatever huge gift you want but explain that you don't want her to misunderstand.
Personally, I think this whole question sounds rather bogus.

I wouldn't push the idea of "getting back together" on her in such a rude manner, as in buying her a gift. She already told you she didn't plan on getting back with you so I would just back off and let her have her space. If you truly want to buy her a gift anyhow, I'd buy something not so romantic for her. Get her a card. This should do be more than enough.

Well if you dont want to get back together, i would say just a card. Your not together anymore so you dont need to buy her a nice gift. What would be funny is you buy her a card, you know one of those meant for money. She opens it up and it has divorce papers in it...lol

I think the "going away with friends" answer was the best. BUT does she EXPECT a huge present. My bf is just as generous but I wouldn't "expect" anything from him. Were you just trying to buy her with these past gifts?

since you are seperated i would do something very basic like a card or a gift certicate.. you say you are still friends so i think this would appropiate any thing else what give false hope.

send her somewhere with her friends. then it will be the kind of extravagant gift you like to give, but there will be no chance for anything to happen.

give her a sincere simple greeting from the heart...that would mean a lot, more than any expensive things.
