are there any ways ,scientific and old tales , by which a couple can influence or select a particular gender ,boy or girl,before trying or while trying for conception .

You can alter your chances of producing either a male or female baby. There are several ways to influence this.

1. The amount of sperm cells can play a factor, the more sperm cells released within a short time frame, the higher the probability that a male offspring will be produced.
a. If the father abstains from sex for 48 hours, there will be more sperm cells.
b. Repeated intercourse will increase the chances of a male, within an hour or so.
c. The temperature of the testicles during the past couple of hours will influence the ratio, the father should abstain from heavy physical exertion if you want a boy, as high temperature kills sperm cells.
d. The father should refrain from bicycle riding, if you want a boy. The pressure from the bike seat can reduce the amount of sperm cells released (and in fact can cause permanent sterility.)
e. If you want a boy, the father should wear boxer shorts instead of briefs. Briefs raise the temperature of the scrotum and also restrict the release of sperm cells.

2. The other side that can be influenced is the female reproductive system. Basically, the idea is that the environment of the vagina can be either pro-conception or anti-conception

a. I can't remember which douche to use if you want a male or female, but the acidity/alkalinity of the vagina will reduce the male/female ratio of sperm cells.
b. Another respondent mentioned ovulation, that is another way to increase/decrease the chances of male vs. female conception.
c. Another factor that I have heard of is the female orgasm. If the woman has an orgasm, she is more likely to produce a male baby.
3. For whatever reason, the ratio of male to female babies is slightly higher, so the chances of a male are predominant. The other factors listed above aren't cast in stone, but they are scientifical facts that will alter the odds.

I have read and seen tv shows that support the cool=girl, hot=boy theory. There was a research project done where the researchers watched kangaroos and the sex of their offspring. A higher percentage of females were conceived in cool weather. The opposite was true for males as well.
Sperm are very sensitive and need to never be hotter than 98 degrees (i think). If testes get too hot the sperm can be damaged. A man regenerates new batches of sperm every 3 months so if his testes get overheated (like from a hot tub or a high fever) then that batch is ruined until he makes a new batch.

I've been told that chances can be raised with the type of food that you eat.

Food can be differentiated from being acidic and alkaline. Sperm that produces girls favour the acidic environment and vice versa. So, eat more of acidic or alkaline foods to change your body's pH level.

Also, when you have sex, because the female sperm survives in the body longer, you need to have sex a few days before your optimum. If you want a boy, to have sex when you are ovulating.

the sex of a baby is determind by the male so unless u pick a man who has a long line of m/f depending on what your wanting to try for then you have to leave it to chance but even if the man has come from a long line of boys there is still a chance u could have a girl. my husband comes from a big family of boys and sure enough i have 2 boys but his brother is having a little girl, so you never can tell!

You can take a look at the chineese lunar calendar to predict the sex of the baby. Maybe it is just coincidence, but both of my pregnancies were correct according to the calendar.
