1) if the phone is new, then there is definitely something wrong with it (possibly the charger)
2) if the phone is over 1 year old then it is possible that the battery is going bad, try buying a new battery
3) take it down to your service provider and get it checked out by a tech, that is NOT NORMAL

It depends on how old your battery is, for one thing. If it's a year or two old, it won't hold a charge nearly as well as it did when it was brand new. And if it's still brand-new, then all it probably needs is a few charging/draining cycles, meaning charge it all the way, and then drain it completely, and then repeat. Do that, and it should start holding the charge longer.
Though, do keep in mind that nothing kills a cell-phone battery faster than actually talking on the cell-phone. Ironic.

if you have a cheap phone that can happen, but you have a nicer phone you should get more talk time than that from a charge. you may have a bad battery. if your phone is old, this is probably the case. batteries can only be recharged a limited number of times.

there r two possible reasons for it. one could be that the battery u hav on ur phone is not a new one, older batteries discharge and "recharge" themselves in sometime, so if thats the case, then just replace ur battery. and next, look at the settings on ur phone, whether u r using power intensive apps like backlights and loudspeakers. mostly, its the first!

same happens to me.
did you charge your battery only when it was zero bars?if you do that your battery life should be longer instead of dying so quickly.
