So my condo neighbors are smokers and the smell has started to recently drift into my spare room, bathroom and kitchen. How do I get rid of the smell? Febreeze only makes it smell like flowers and cigarettes. How can I politely tell them my problem? We've never talked. I would hate to bring it to the condo board and have them involved.

it is probley coming though yuor bath vent fans. often in apartments and condos installers will slip by and use the same stack for several baths vents(stack vents vents the smell out of the builden or is suppose to:) Bring this up at the board meeting an diof it is so and the condos ar enot very old the board can make the builders redothe vent stacks.
You should not get any smell from next door unless ther eis away for it to enter such as vents.

Being polite is a non issue that you should not concern yourself with. Second hand smoke has been proven to cause cancer. I'd raise hell with the condo board to remedy the problem. If your neighbors have a problem with that, too bad. You would be doing nothing wrong by bringing it to the attention of the board. Better to "rat" em out than to take matters into your own hands (tempting as it seems).

Well you can try to ask them to smoke outside or on their patio. As it is causing your house to smell. If they dont co-operate then you might be forced to bring the condo board in on it. Try all other options before you bring in the condo board .I tried that once in an apt complex and before too long they were asking me to move out because i was tagged as being a troublemaker. So be carefull when you do this because it might backfire on you. Good luck hope this helps.

We had a similar problem in our building - but it wasn't CIGARETTE smell. I think a family member of the lady next to the offenders said something to the landlord/owner... he showed up one day at their (offenders) apt., and before you knew it, they were moving out.
In the meantime, if you're doing some cleaning to get rid of the smell, try some white vinegar.

This is why you buy a house instead of a condo....I would bring it to the condo board! How can you stand the smell...you are paying for this condo. I would put that baby up for sale! Smoking is actually, decreasing ur condo's value.
