Do any fans of the A's and the Angels' find it annoying that their rivalry is so ignored in the press? For the past few years it has been one of the more exciting rivalries in the final weeks of the regular season. Certainly, the Angels have an uphill battle this year, but I think it will still be exciting! But, no...as usual the media is fixated on the East coast. Whatever. Enough about Boston and the Yankees! We get it!! They hate each other. yawn. Neither will make it to the World Series, so let it go.

Yes...I'm an Angels' fan, but I think the A's do have it this year. They have more consistent bats and fewer rookies.

Part of the problem is that the media like Fox and ESPN are based on the East Coast. East coast newspapers do not even report West Coast night game scores.

Maybe it's because the Angels keep changing their name. No-one can keep track of it. Aren't they currently called something like "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" (which translates to "the angels angels etc..." ;)

Seriously, I'm an A's fan and recently have been reading a lot about the rivalry in our local papers. Last two years, the Angels clinched the division at the Oakland Colleseum. Or is the the "Network Associates Colleseum"... no... it's the McAfee Colleseum. ;)

I think it's well known that the scores from the west coast come out after everyone has gone to bed on the east coast. They never get to see the games and we are generally ignored. Even the Giants/Dodgers rivalry is downplayed. Perhaps that gets a bit more press becaus of the east coast history of the teams.

I think it is because the sports fans on the East Coast are more passionate about their teams and are considered "true" fans. I live in San Francisco, and when I watch games in Oakland or A,T&T Park, the so-called fans leave the games right when the home teams start losing. In the East, at least 75% of the home fans stay, win or lose. It is evident watching games in the past when I lived in NY. I think that the true SoCal/NoCal rivalry is with the Giants against the Angels and Dodgers. The A's have no rivals because they can beat anyone!

East Coast for life, yo.

No, I'm kidding, I'm a Mets fan living in NYC and I hate the Yankees and the Sox. I dont often get to see many west coast games except for when they're on ESPN, but I guess its just the history of the Yankes/Sox that makes it more famous. I dont know what team you're a fan of, but hey, the A's are in the playoffs.

hmmm....I know that the A's and Angels have a rivalry, I just did not know that it was a really big one like mets and yanks. But it might have more to do with the SF and LA rivalry in the west that overshadows the other rivalry in the west.
