some men don't realize the what is involved in a commitment. They think there is not harm in looking at other women. Thoughts lead to actions that they did not intend. They need to wake up every day and say to themselves that they l love there wife and that NO ONE is more important in there life. Make a List of who is important in life and follow it.

This is mine.

1 God
2 wife
3 children
4 extended family
5 other people

This is how it was explained to me by a counselor. Man and woman are attracted and the feel good chemicals in the brain take over. After about 2 years these chemicals slow down, and then something else usually happens, such as having a baby and then the chemicals rise again. After that, 2 years later there is usually another baby. By year 7 "the seven year itch", most couples break up. If not, then it will usually continue until one of them hits a midlife crisis. Many marriages break up after 15 years. It takes alot of hard work and respect to keep a marriage together. Unfortunately, my marriage didn't make it.

Usually it is due to lack of communication between the two people in the marraige. The woman isn't saying to him what she needs and the man isn't telling her what he needs...people get comfortable with each other and don't keep up thier appearance ect. I never understood this just cause you are in love and you know your partner loves you doesn't mean you can just get fat and not dress sexy ect. I say after marraige there is even MORE of a reason to dress sexy/handsome and do more for your partner! Men often miss the sexy woman they married in the beginning and rather than doing something to make thier own wife feel sexy and special its easier to go out and get someone who takes less work! They also need reassurance that they are verile and sexy to other women so they go fishing to see what they can get! No one should ever cheat and if they feel the need to they should examine thier relationship and try to fix what the problem is.

I am starting to get really tired of all these ‘Why do men cheat on their wives’ questions.

I for one have never cheated on my wife of fourteen years, and I have absolutely no intentions of doing so.

The thing that annoys me the most, is the suggestion that it is only ‘men’ who cheat on their partners…
Get real people… There are an awful lot of married women out there who are cheating on their husbands.
Let’s not lose sight of that fact, OK !!!

I have always heard that it takes 2 two tango. So there had to be consent on both sides, besides why do women cheat on there husbands. I have been happily married for 53 years to the same woman, the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence,

Coz they get married without knowing or realising that they actually dont really love and respect their wives from the beginning.

Their love is so weak that they can easily be swayed to cheat whenever opportunities arise.

I once saw an excellent cartoon. I wish I had a copy that I could include. It depicted a man and a woman at the alter. Each had a thought bubble over their heads. On the man's side: "Finally, I'm getting married. I can have sex whenever I want.". On the woman's side: "Finally, I'm getting married. I never have to have sex again.".

BTW, I have never cheated on my wife during our 18 years together.

I'm a man who's been married for over 16 years. Never cheated and I have no intention of doing so.

What would make you think all men do this?

I've been completely faithful in this marriage, but I did wander during the first. Years of getting nagged, loss of sexual attraction for my partner. Getting attention from a younger, more attractive female that appreciated me. I know, not right in the big picture, just being honest. Hopefully, you find the right person the first time around and can avoid the negative feelings I had. Good luck.

Not all men do, so please refine your question. As to the general notion surrounding that which you point out, I do not believe that it is only men who are to be blamed for cheating, for women do have their own part to play as well.
The society itself must undergo reform with regard to making its members part of civilisation, and tolerate nothing less than belief in a higher authority (or commonly known as God), before we don't ever have to ask of those cheat questions.
