who said that bullet would pass through glass.only if the glass has a hole large enough to allow bullet but small enough to stop the stone this would happen.
never would a bullet pass "through" a glass without breaking it.

With a small bullet, the disturbance is so isolated and fast, the glass shear wave occurs as such a short impulse, so doesn't contain enough energy to break the glass very far from the hole. A analogy would be pulling the table cloth out from under a dinner plate; do it fast enough and the plate doesn't have time to respond.

A bullet is small and pointy plus it moves faster than throwing a rock, and only hits a small section of the glass so it can pierce through the Glass the same way you can poke your finger through a cake. A rock is is thick and chunky and is moving slower than the bullet so it hits the glass at a slower speed and comes in more contact with the glass, your fist would crush a cake if you punch it because it is coming in contact with a bigger piece of the cake which cause a bigger reaction and crushes it or destroys the surrounding area. kind of like a shock wave reaction.

one is the speed and 2 is the shape of the bullet. A bullet is smaller at one end and larger a the other while the rock is usually a larger piece that is roundish in shape. The bullet Pierces the glass kind of like a needle does to the skin. you ever look at a needle and it is pointy then gets bugger? They could make it all like a flat ended sharp cylinder but they don't they make it smaller to larger like a bullet.

velocity and size. The smaller, faster bullet punches a hole in glass while the larger and so very much slower rock hits with more surface and breaks the window.

velocity. i think that is the main reason. plus the bullet is small and with, potentially, direct form allowing it to pass through with little recourse to the remaining glass plate.
