LHS = 12^x - 4^x+2*3^x -2 = 12^4-x
by inspection x should be 4(RHS is around 12^4
put x = 4
LHS = 12^4-256+2*81 -2 not same as RHS
try -4 it does not help
so no solution

12x^2+6x-4x-2-12^4+x=0
12x^2+3x-20736=0
a=12
b=3
c=20736
The first root is x1=41472.375
x2=-41471.625
