For cying out loud, where were my fellow Republicans when it came time to tell the thug that his attacks on our President and, by extension, our country, aren't welcome?

Charlie Rangel and I never agreed on anything before he opened his mouth and stood up to Hugo yesterday. I respect him for it.

I really don't think it matters if you are a republican or a Democrat, if someone is bashing the president of the United States in our country for that matter, any American Citizen would stand up for the president.
I am a Democrat and i would definately stand up for Bush if he was getting attacked by someone from another country on live TV and he wasn't there to defend himself.
Chavez's actions were uncalled for and i hope they never let him in the US again!

Just another reason why I am proud to be a liberal. Although we may disagree with most conservatives on most things, we will honor what we believe to be the rights of all people, even those with whom we disagree.

Chavez is a little man who can cause big problems (he befriends all terrorist, anti-American countries after all and he just gave huge oil sales to China) but he was way out of line and just showed how small he is. He does not get the irony that he was not tossed in jail and beaten soundly for his comments in the US, yet in his country anyone who disagrees with him or "insults" him is thrown in jail and beaten.

What bothers me more are the members who cheered him on. You know, the ones who also don't respect human rights in their own countries. Right, the US is bad? Too much kettle calling.

not really ironic, since Chavez was just saying the same things Democrats have been saying for 6 years. What came out of Chavez's mouth were Democratic talking points. \

Shame the Democrats didn't have enough foresight to see that their nonsense comments would create an image outside the USA that made us look weak.
