Is it ok to pour candles into collector tins??
Any pros/cons?

It shouldn't be a problem if you poured the wax in stages to avoid unduly stressing the metal. If you place the wick and pour an inch or two of wax and let cool before the next pouring, each layer would support the one before it. Added bonus would be a multi-colored candle. We used to make candles in glass jars with this method.

Many of the collector tins I have are very thin metal. I wouldn't think they would support hot wax poured into them, or hot wax melting inside of them.

If there was a way to reinforce the inside/bottom of the tin, then I think it would work. I do have some small candles inside tins, and the sides of the container are thicker.

Just remember to keep the finished product off your wood furniture. Candles in tins burn hot and need to be set on something to protect the furniture.

also look for leaks in the tins and try to patch them up before you pour the hot wax in, and to keep the tin from reshaping itself make sure you cool the wax in room temperature

Yes, but try to pour as cool as possible so you get minimal shrinkage and don't distort the tin
