well I just called my dr and they said I am about a week late???had anyone ever taken a preg test and had the results not show until they where longer then a week late???i also made a app to go in and get my blood wrk done on wed....wish me luck

Yes sometimes it takes a little longer for your body to relize that you are pregnant so it don't produce the hormones that tell the pregnancy test you are pregnant.

Yes - was on fertility and completed an at home pregnancy test on the date specified from the doctors. I had a negative result and was obviously upset - however the doctor did not expect the treatment to work for medical reasons. 5 days later after not getting my period (stopped all meds) I took another test just for piece of mind - there was a faint line stating I was pregnant. Went to the Doc 15 minutes later and the results were confirmed - I was pregnant and my HCG levels were to low to register on the at home pregnancy test the first time. My levels remained low and I was placed on meds in the first trimester to avoid complications and had a wondreful little boy 38 weeks later. Good Luck :)

It really depends on the sensitivity of the test that you used - if you used one that is known for only detecting high amounts of HcG, then there is a good chance of getting a false negative. I was just wondering if you usually have regular periods...it seems strange to me that the doctor told you that you were a week late, but that you didn't know it yourself? I would get a test with a good sensitivity & try again.

My test showed positive right away however my friends test showed negative twice and she has a beautiful baby girl now.

No...mine showed up i was 4 days late and I took an OFF BRAND test and I took it at night!

getting a blood test is the best way to go, its the most accurate. dont even waste your time with the at home urine tests.
