The doctor said she fit her finger in my cervix and could feel the baby's head.
How much longer will it be before baby is here?

You have to dialate to 10cm. I was 3cm and still had to be induced. I'm sure w/in the next week you will have your bundle of joy. Enjoy the quiet time now. lol

Congratulations and Good Luck

hey! Same thing happened to me about 2 an a half weeks before my baby arrived, so it could be 2 or three weeks??! Its sounds like forever hey! The good thing about that is you know that you will go around your due date and probably not over it. Also, you will most likely keep on dilating up until labour starts so when you get to hospital and are having contractions it means a lot shorter labour for you! but, because u are already so far dilated the contractions can come on very stronger and heaps closer together alot quicker than usual. My waters broke, and I was 3.5cm when i got to hospital and within an hour of my contractions starting i couldnt even talk through them and they were overlapping. Straight into the hard stage of the labour. But its a good thing, not mucking around! haha.
Goodluck with your labour and your new baby! enjoy every moment

It depends on how long it takes for your body to dialate to I think 10 or 12 cms. The body is a wonderful thing it works with you and the baby. The baby has to turn so that it comes out face first (forehead first), and whilst turning you are dialating. Its my understanding if the baby refuses to turn like me you will not dialate sufficiently and a cesaerian will be required, but if baby is face first it'll be so quick up anything between 2-4 hours, but it all depends. Don't rush it, baby will be here soon enough ! All the best and congrats.

honey I've seen all your questions lately so I'm glad to hear you already are on your way to having your baby. 1cm means that you are 10% there, you need to get to 10com so that there's enough space for the baby to go through and that you can start pushing. It could be hours, days or weeks, the best advice, as you should know is walking a lot to help speed the process naturally. I'm so happy for you, let us know how it goes. Congratulations!!

Congrats! Your on your way. It could be weeks, or maybe just days. My doctor checked me on monday and I was 2cm. On saturday morning I went to the hospital with contractions and was still 2cm. I walked for an hour and was 4cm. An hour later I was 8cm. Then about 3-4 hours later I had my baby boy!

He was born 9-16-06 at 1:25pm. Sorry, I'm just so excited!!!

It means you better make sure you have everything ready because you are going to have a baby SOON. Get plenty of sleep now because you won't get much after that baby gets here. Go out with your husband on a date because it will be awhile before you can do that again. GOOD LUCK

I am sure your doctor told you it could be a few weeks or a day. Why did you go to the hospital? If you are having problems they might want to speed things along. Either way, it won't be long so make sure everything is ready for the new addition.

This means that you cerix which is what allows you baby pass though is starting to open sometimes it is slow sometimes it is fast. Since they sent you home you were probably still hard in there which means you still have a little more time till you have the baby beacuase you can open to ten cm when you reach this you water shouls have broke and you will be in full blown labor.

This means your cercix is opening and you are in labor not active labor, yet tho. You cam go from 1 cm to ten in a matter of time. Next time you see the doctor ask them to explain what this means they will probly give you a better idea than I can. Anytime now. Congrats mommy

You could have the baby today or next week. You will know when you are in labor when the labor pains kick in about 5 minutes apart and very strong. Good Luck.

Seems like you are nerveous about it, are you early in pregnancy? is that the reason why you asked this question? if yes than you might be a candidate for bed rest, some times if you get opened to early the docto will ask you to get into bed untill 32-36 weeks depends on the doctor you have, it is perfectly normal just dificult to stay in bed, also check out if you have early contractions that causes it to open, if yes there is medicin to be taken to stop the contractions,
