Perry's Inn, Florida Keys. We met some friends in Miami and decided to drive down to the keys (before the internet) and we didn't know where to make a reservation. We drove down and decided to take a chance and we wound up staying at some sh*thole. There wasn't even a door on the room when we checked in. There were bugs in the shower and food remnants from previous guests on the floor. We went to check out the pool and it had vegetation growing in it. We asked for a refund, but were told that there were no refunds given. Ugh. Thank goodness for AAA Motor Club and Expedia.

The 5 star McArthur Hotel in Manila the Philippines. It was so bad that I didn't stay the night. When they flipped on the lights in the room, the floor was moving with huge bugs that I've never seen before in my life. There was no toilet in the room, you had to position youself over a square hole in the floor with a water moat around it. It smelled like something died in there. The winds kicked up as a typhoon was predicted to hit and the building was actually moving with each gust. Needless to say, I high tailed it to the Hilton and weathered the typhoon in the basement there rather than staying at the McArthur which sustained heavy damage from the typhoon.

The Thunderbird Motel in Hillsboro, Texas! LOL! I waited too long to make reservations for my high school reunion and this was the only place with vacancies so I had to take it or not go. It was SO bad they still had real metal keys for the doors instead of electronic key cards. All long distance calls had to go through the switchboard operator, the phones wouldn't even accept my calling card number. There were even people living there on a permanent basis. It was for two nights, but fortunately I didn't have to be there much because I was out visiting and partying. Thank God!

The Williamsburg Hotel in Williamsburg, KY. It was filthy nasty. The bleach they used to clean the bathroom was so strong I about gagged. The carpets were so dirty, my baby had black knees and hands from crawling on it. I had to keep my 6 month old on the bed for the rest of the night after his bath. The ice machine was broken, the coke machine was out of order. And the only restaurant close to the hotel in walking distance was a Krystals....Ewwwwwwwwyuck!
