The only one I can remember or know of is what they called 'Pressing' (I may be wrong about the name). They preformed this torture by tying some down to the ground and placing large rocks on the persons chest until they either confessed or they died. The most well known person they did this to was a man by the name of Giles Corey (sorry if I am miss spelling the name). I hope this helps you a little bit.
Peace out

My niece did a project last year and her grandparents took her to Salem as a birthday gift. As fascinating as this topic is to me, and as easy as it would be for us to find these references for you, I wonder what research you have done on your own?
Learning about the subject is only part of the learning process here, dear heart. The other part is learning how to research, how to organize your thoughts and how to tell good information from bad.
Try again, and let us know what you have already. Then we won't be duplicating your work.
PS... I'll give you one hint: they were Puritans, not pilgrims. Start there.

Hi,
I saw your question (just put one of my own on, re: software issue). I am a mom of three. My oldest daughter recently asked me about this very issue. Here are two sites we found helpful:
1) http://www.salemweb.com/guide/witches.shtml (This one is the "official" site of Salem, MA where this whole thing began and also provides some "links" for more information)
2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/salem_witch_trials (This one seems to have extensive information on the subject, and includes many many links to related information)
Hope this helps. :)
