Tylenol products are the only ones recommended for use by pregnant women. I was taking Aleve early in my pregnancy before i knew I was pregnant and my OB jumped all over me. Call you doctor and ask if the regular dose of tylenol just isn't cutting it. The doctor maybe able to prescribe something else... Massage and a heating pad may help some of it also may just be pregnancy woes that will have to be dealt with. Round ligament stretching was a serious problem for me the ENTIRE second half of my pregnancy. That caused back pain and what sometimes I mistook as contractions. (Oh yea fun) Anyway... please call your doctor. Anything other then tylenol can do harm to your baby.

You must check with your doctor first but some shops (Boots if you're in England)rent out a TENS machine which will ease your backache and you can use through the birth as well to take the edge off of the labour contractions.#
Otherwise it's paracetemol
Take Care and Good Luck for the future

I never had a baby but I have heard that back aches are common and are a nusance. It is your decision, but if I was as lucky as you, I would make sure that baby would be healthy and not take anything, just eat halthy and once that baby is delivered, that back ache will be gone and you will feel good that your baby is healthy because you took every precaution to ensure that. You are so lucky!!!!!! God bless you, and your unborn child and your family! P.S. don't let those rude insulting people say thing to upset you and hurt and make you mad, that is their intent. They are all butts, just laugh at their stupidity. I am glad you asked here on Yahoo, allot of good folks here that want to help. God Bless!!!!! hey, one more thing, schooling for a special is free for yung mothers like you. So go for it. One more thing, folks may say allot of things, but you will be having this baby uping enough to do things with your child unlike those that have a baby too late in life that leaves the child lonely and on it's own at sports etc. ( seat witha heating pad behind you to relieve the muscles and tensions. Good Luck, you will be just fine!!!! Remember the pregnet women are the most beautiful!

Paracetamol is the only medication deemed the safest choice to take when pregnant. When you are pregnant hormones cause your joints to be more flexible and along with the baby extra pressure is exerted on to your joints. You need to take care with your posture, and combine an equal amount of rest along with gentle exercises to help relieve the discomfort. Your doctor, midwife or physio can assist you with some gentle exercises. if the pain is too great then you need to see your doctor who can weigh up the pros and cons of a stronger medication.

If you must take meds see a doctor, painkillers could be harmful to your baby.
You might try a ice pack on your back, make sure you put it on for 20 minutes and off 20 minutes, this sometimes works for aches. If you don't have a ice pack you can make one with a freezer bag and crushed ice wraped in a towel.
Good luck

Paracetamol I'm afraid, is it! You're not even supposed to use a hot water bottle. You'll just have to take it easy. Get used to it because if you think that's pain then wait until the labour! Sorry, but it had to be said. I know how you feel but really, you'll look back and wonder what you ever complained about! Good luck! x

Women have got special love for the pregnant and the newly born baby. It is difficult to care for the newly born baby if one didt talk any advice for the eldries and the Docter

Ibuprofen(Advil) is not safe to take at any time during your pregnancy. It causes stomach bleeding, which could be bad for your baby.
Aspirin is not safe to take until you are 18-19 years old, because of the risk of Reye's Syndrome, so it isn't safe to take while pregnant, either.
Tylenol is safe to take, just don't take more than the recommended dosage.
Good luck with your new baby.
