i have some winged armchairs and i want to remove the wings to make them into normal armchairs.

hmmm,... Well nuthin but a plain old fashioned saw will do the job I guess.

Then after you've mutilated it, its just a matter of tucking the uppolstery and securing the fabric with tacks or brads.

Why are you particularly attached to those chairs? Are the family jewels hidden in the frame somewhere?

Somehow I can picture this. Do you also have a couch that was a bench seat in a pickup truck?
