Wikipedia and Answers.com have a nice little write up on it but have neglected showing (and sounding) a pronunciation.

Photography has a short pho...(almost fa)
Fauxtography should have a longer pho...(like foe)

like saying Faux perles....say Faux/ tography (two words)
otherwise you can't "hear" the faux part.

Since "faux" by itself is pronounced "pho", I would assume "fauxtography" is pronounced "photography". encarta doesn't list the word.

well faux is french and it is pronounced like FOE
