When you consider a taking a lifetime partner it would be wise to choose someone with whom you can agree. This person should be someone you can respect, always. So you have to ask yourself, if I was not in love with this person, then who is he? Do I forgive all his faults because I am in love? Is he someone other people respect? If I look a couple years down the road for this relationship...what do I see? (If he survives this far then now is the time to see how much he loves you.) Show him the realities of what a marriage will cost. Nothing tells with people like money. Do a houshold budget. Look at what will be required of both of you to sustain it. Know what your responsibility will be and expect him to be able to tell you what his resposibilities are. Finances gone bad will kill a relationship. Then remind him that love, honor, and cherish are the contract before "death do us part." Demonstrate to him that you do love, honor and cherish him because he is who he is. Remember not to confuse love and sex. Sex in marraige is an act born of love. Love is an emotion born of trust and respect. Trust and respect have to be earned and then sustained and that is what makes a marriage.

Get some relationship counseling.
You shouldn't have to "amuse" him. Marriage is fun but its also a lot of work that requires compromise from both people in order to build a life together.
Why would you feel a need to "test" him to see how much he loves you? You should feel secure in the relationship before agreeing to marry him.
If you have all of these questions and concerns it sounds like now might not be the best time to get married.
