For the most part people who are looking for an apartment go for a newspaper. That's where you want to be. If you have a property take out a classified advertisement. It may also be helpful to have a for rent sign on your property and see if the corner neighbor will let you place a for rent sign with an arrow and address in his/her yard.

If you're near a university you may find a "looking for a roomate" board where you may be able to post your listing.
