I would have to say Jason Voorhees, cause he's one mean MOTHA F***ER. I'd hate to have someone or something after me that just wouldn't f***ing die. He's like the shark from Jaws, on crack.

Robert Mitchum. Especially as the preacher in Night of the Hunter, but just in general. Even in his crap TV movies where he's getting on a bit and playing the good guy he freaks the hell out of me. I think it's due to his fixed facial expression as I'm also toally freaked out by clowns/ puppets/ freaky porcelain doll things/ ventriloquists dummies.

Someone mentioned the Preacher in Poltergeist 2 - yes, he was great. He was played by Julian Beck, a great stage actor and teacher, who actually was dying of cancer and was very sick and in pain when the movie was being filmed. He wanted to do this and was such a great actor that he was able to project the energy of that pain and death into The Preacher. He made a fairly minor movie awesome.

Freddie (nightmare on Elm Street) I use to have nightmares about him and we all know what happens when he catches you napping. Actually he sat next to me at a Prince concert in one of my dreams and although he wanted to slit my throat: I managed to deter him with a strong word, I even managed to enjoy the concert for a while too. Maybe he's just misunderstood.
