I was about to take it to the shop but smoke is coming out even though I put the break fluid in it. So I am kind of scared to drive it to the shop. The breaks work but it seem like it do not want to stop. I here air evertime I press the break what is wrong. I do not want the people at the car shop to get over on me .

SOUNDS LIKE A HOLE IN THE DIAPRAGM IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER
WHAT HAS PROBABLY HAPPENED HERE IT THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS WORN OUT ALLOWING BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK OUT THE BACK OF THE CYLINDER AND INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER
THIS PROBABLY WEAKENED AND DETERIORATED THE BOOSTER DIAPHAGM AND PERFORATED IT
WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES YOU ARE SUCKING AIR THOUGH THE BOOSTER (THAT IS THE AIR YOU HEAR)
BECAUSE THE AIR IS LEAKING IN THE "VACUUM BOOSTER" HAS NO VACUUM TO ASSIST IN THE OPERATION OF THE BRAKES SO NOW YOU NO LONGER HAVE POWER BRAKES BUT MANUAL INSTEAD
THE PEDAL PROBABLY FEELS HARD YET YOU DO NOT STOP WELL
BOTH THE BOOSTER AND CYLINDER MUST BE REPLACED
A REBUILT BOOSTER SHOULD RUN ABOUT $85
A REBUILT MASTER CYL ABOUT $70 NEW ABOUT $130
DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR TILL REPAIRED

Geeze ...your master cylinder is shot ! It's sucking air through it and you do not have a closed brake system. Believe me unless you are a good mechanic you cannot fix it yourself and you cannot drive it that way. The smoke you are seeing is from the leaking brake fluid burning as it hits the engine. Once the master cylinder is replaced all the brake lines will need to be bled of air until it becomes a closed system again..if not your brakes will not work right. So...find a way to get it in the shop ASAP.

The power break booster has a vacuum leak and doesn't work anymore. This makes the brake pedal very hard to press.

It may be smoking because the brake fluid is leaking and dripping onto the exhaust manifold and burning. You shouldn't drive a car in this condition.

I agree that you need a master cylinder based on what you say is happening. I am not familiar with that year brake booster but I would not be surprised if you do also need that. Take it in.

Your car need repair. Make sure that once a weed or so, you back up and stop quickly in a safe area. This is needed to adjust the rear breaks automatically, but from the sound of it, your car needs break repair.

smoke is probably from leaking fluid dropping onto your exhaust pipe (burning/smoking). if you hear "air" then that is air leaking from the booster (vacuum powered from your engine).depending how far you have to drive and how bad the leak is, your brakes may be up to it BUT if the exhaust is hot and covered in fluid it may catch fire!! get it towed!

Tow it to a shop that someone you know goes to and trusts.....you probably have air in lines first off ,you may need new pads and possibly boots.........another possibility is your master cylinder ........plz get it in .........be careful! Good Luck!
