Google "salary survey" as a lot of these are listed on the internet. You can also try monster.com. Be careful because you should not have to pay for basic salary info.

THe national newspaper for people in Higher Education is called "The Chronicles of Higher Education" or jsut "The Chronicle" you could get a copy of it in a major library or almost any college library.

They do annual reports that detail very extensively the salaries and demographics for university personnel. One was just printed in a recent issue. It gives everything you could possible want to know. This would not be online yet because it just recently came out. The CHronicle has a website but it is restricted to subscribers to the newspaper.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
