keep the room where baby sleeps cool. do not put anything in the crib with the baby. if you need to put a blanket over the baby only pull it up to their waist. do not smoke around baby. and i have heard that if your baby uses a pacifier it keeps them from fall into a deep sleep which is when they stop breathing. and i sure you know to put baby on their back when they sleep.

To prevent SIDs don't let the child sleep in your bed...don't smoke or let anyone smoke in your house....don't put anything in the crib like blankets or toys....Don't over bundle the baby for bed....Make sure you put the baby on his or her back to sleep and invest in a sleep positioners so that the baby stays that way until its time to get up.....Last but not least if the baby is already in its own room use a baby monitor so you can hear him or her.

Buy a SIDS mattress designed to keep the baby sleeping on his/her back. Install a baby monitor with a video link. Keep toys and pillows out of the crib. Or, sew a ball on the front of the baby's clothing so that he/she will turn on his/her back to get comfortable.

Keep blankets & toys (like stuffed animals) out of the crib. Now they're saying to always put your baby down on it's back so they won't smother by laying on their face.
Don't smoke around the baby.
Those are the only ones I can think of right now.
Haven't had caffeine yet this morning.

Put baby on his back....there are these new sleeper things you can buy at babies r us that support their heads in the correct sleeping position. Dont put heavy blankets on baby to sleep, no stuffed animals in the bed with them....and dont put baby in the bed with you. There are bassinets that let out on the side so you can see what baby is doing.

Most importantly put your baby on their back to sleep. No blankets, toys, loose bedding, loose pajamas or bumper pads. Those items are all a danger to your baby.

Dont sleep with the baby in your bed, parental exhaustion is a fatal problem for babies.
Get plenty of rest BUT do "fun" things for YOURSELF while your baby sleeps in the afternoon.
