Divide 282 by the litres/km figure.

e.g 10 L/100km. 282/10 = 28.2 mpg

The reverse is - Divide the MPG (UK) figure by 2.82 to get Lit/100km

1 litre = 0.22 g

100 Km = 62.14 miles

n L = (mpg) 1
---- -----
62.14 4.55 L

n = (mpg) 62.14
---------
4.55

L/100km = 13.66 x mpg

put one litre in and see how may miles you get from it urban cycle..
