The Japan Times, the daily newspaper in English, is 150 yen.

The two best weekly magazines are Metropolis

and Tokyo Notice Board:

Both have lots of info on jobs, accomodations, selling personal items, etc...

They come out every Friday and you can find them at Tower Records, HMV, a number of Hub Pubs and Dubliners, Virgin Records.

A monthly free magazine that's more humor-bent is Japanzine:

You can get it free at HMV or Tower Records in Shibuya as I recall. Also in places like T.G.I Fridays and Outbacks Steak House.
