I'm guessing you have a copper IUD?? They should have given you some info. I have the Merina, I got it about 2 mths ago and I spotted the first month but it has stopped. My Dr said I may not even get a period with it.

Good luck!

I know its a bit different but after I delivered my first baby I bled for 10 weeks (and the norm is a few days to two weeks) THis was normal for me and created no problems whatsoever. None the less if you are worried you should see your doctor again, and if he/she isnt taking your concern seriously you should get a second oppinion. Some woman can have an abnormally shaped uterus which means the iud wont sit correctly and can cause bleeding, another scan will be able to tell if this is your case. I would be especially worried if the bleeding was heavy, you passed large clotts or you had any funny looking/smelling discharge, which could indicate an infection. Take it easy for a few days to give your body the chance to heal and rest.
Wish you the best of luck and hope the bleeding stops soon

Its common to bleed or spot the 1st 3 months i would wait it aout 1 more month and if it dosent stop ask if maybe you could have it removed. But like I said is normal I have mirena which has hormones and spotted for 3 months es after sex so sounds to me like with the paraguard it will be a lil more than what I bled but 3 months is usallu normal best of luck

Here's an article. I'd get a second opinion.
