I spent 225 dollars once on a medical text.

Medical texts/reference books typically run in the 100-200 dollar range.

Journal subscriptions even more per year.

My books typically run about $600 to $700 a semester. I just transfered from community college (cheaper books) to university and the difference in prices is crazy! The worst part is this semester I bought a book that was listed under my class, professor and said it was "required"; only to find out it wasn't the right book and the book store ordered the wrong edition ( I got 1st and needed 7th-biiig difference). I can't get the proper book unless the prof. reports it and orders the right book but now everyone has ordered theirs off Amazon. So here I sit with $200 of useless books that I can't return and to sell back they would only give me $5. Talk about crap!!!!!

for school i once paid like 200 something for a business law book. wasn't worth it at all, especially when they make you buy the new edition, and it has barely changed from the previous.
