Ant, Moses did not rule Egypt. He was just a prophet who lived away with the poorest of his family although it was the Egyptians who taught him wisdom and religion.

smack, you are the nearest to the truth. Yes, young Joseph who was betrayed by his own Israeli-brothers, and was dumped into the shaft and was saved and raised up by the Egyptians is the one who reached the Royal Egyptian palace. As always pharoahs known for their greatness rewaded him to be the Royal stors keeper . Jo was the one who interepted the dreams for the Pharaoh.
By the way, Egypt never ever had slaves. Victim card does not work for Egyptian case. sorry to disappoint you.

joseph was also made into a prince of egypt and thats how the israelites came to be in the land of goshen during a time of famine ... they came to egypt searching for food and ran into their long lost reletive that had been sold into slavery years earlier by hateful brothers ... but he wound up being promoted to high rank because he had a gift of interpreting dreams and won favor with pharoah.

According to the Bible, Moses was picked out of the River Nile by Pharoh's daughter. He was then brought up as an Egyptian in Pharoh's palace.

I guess this would make him - the first Jewish Prince

He was not a prince, just an adopted baby found at the steps of the palace of the Pharaoh. He grew in the palace as an adopted child.

Moses was an israelite and was the prince of egypt. He delivered his hebrew people out of the clutches of King Tut who was torturing them. Get the DVD "THe Prince of Egypt". It sums it up more or less although different religions see it differently somewhat.
