Better check your problem to see if you wrote it down correctly. To solve these types of problems, write down the two purchases as equations. The first day you have 8t+6f=450. The second day you have 10t+8f=650. Subtract the first equation from the second . You get (10t+8f)-(8t+6f)=650-450 or 2t+2f=200 . This means that the extra two toys and two fans cost P200. But wait a minute! If 2t+2f=200, then 6t+6f=600 and 8t+6f=2t+P600. But this cannot be since you told me that 8 toys and 6 fans cost only P450 unless--and this is kind of crazy--the store pays you to take the toys. You see, if 2t+2f=200, then t+f=100. The first day you have 8t+6f=P450.or 2t+(6t+6f)=P450 but 6t+6f=P600, so 2t+P600=P450. Subtract P450 from each side yields 2t+P150=0.. then 2t=-P150 and t=-P75. Substitute this into the equation t+f=100. You get -75+f=100or f=175. So the answer is --each fan costs P175 and the store pays you P 75 to take each toy off their hands. If you don't believe this,

the answer is
the value of toy is 175
the value of fan is -75
this is impossible
solution:
let the price of a toy be x
let the price of the fan be y
then price of 8 toys + price of 6 fans =8x + 6y ------1st Eqation
then price of 10 toys + price of 8 fans= 10x + 8y-------2nd Equation
1st Equation:
8x+6y=450 (given in the question)
=> 4x+3y=225 (dividing the equation by 2)
=> 20x+15y=1125 (multiplying by 5)------- 3rd Equation

2nd Eqation:
10x+8y=650 (given in the question)
=>20x+16y=1300 (multiplying the Equation by 2)------ 4th Equation

3rd Equation-4th Equation
=> 20x+15y-(20x+16y)=1125 -1300
=> 20x-20x+15y-16y=-175
=> -y=-175
=> y=175

substituting this value of y in 1st Equation we get
8x+6y=450
=> 8x+6(175)=450
=> 8x+1050=450
=> 8x=-600
=> x=-75
hence the value of toy(y) is 175
the value of fan(x) is -75

Don't look at this question as algebra, but a problem of inflation of the P in that country.

2 days is a long time in some economies
