Nice to see peaches at least answered the question and I agree with her.
You see this odd logic of saying nothing has happened as proof that we're doing such a great job and of course spending a HUGE amount of money doing it. I'd counter and say in the 50 years prior to that I can only name one time we had an incident by this type of idiots and spent a whole lot less for it.

Better question. Name me one, just one terrorist act Al Qaeda has completed in the US since 2001.
And the difference between the Nazis and terrorists is--the terrorists don't have "land". And also we had many nations in the effort to rout the Nazis. If you consider Afghanistan their "land" then we did defeat the Al Qaeda, along with the Taliban. Yeah they still exist but they don't control the government there.

Good question, not even one and the since then hamas has won elections, the taliban are retaking afganistan, and the hezbollah are gaining control of lebenon, not to mention the new recruits in iraq.
