My ipod locksup when connected to pc.Only when I start to transfer songs from pc to ipod.Compatibilty mode?

I don't know what tab they are saying to click on for windows compatibilty mode.Can you help please.

if you are running xp, then should not need compat' mode... thats only for windows 95/98/me ......
