one shuffle and two nanos..one white and one black one. now she wants the one to watch videos on and she needs more space for her music. So my question is should I get this for her, or stop spoiling her. The last one came from her uncle for selling so much pepsi at his store.

tell her if she wants the ipod video, she should put her other ones up for sale on ebay, craigs list, or the newspaper to help pay for the new one. it will help her better learn the value of a dollar and that things wont always be handed to her.

Make her give up the 2 nano's (sell them on ebay to defray the cost of the new one) before you give her the new one. And yes, you are spoiling her. Stop now, before you have a nightmare on your hands. Make her work off the cost of the new one by working around the house - REAL jobs, not just picking up her room etc. It's probably okay to let her keep the shuffle - it really is designed for different stuff than than a standard ipod...just make sure she uses it while she's doing some MANUAL LABOR around your house. And when you get her a new ipod, get her the one with the most memory posible - and tell her that once she fills it, that's IT.

For the love of God STOP!!! She's 14! At least you realize she's spoiled, but that's your fault. You can do something to fix it though.
Like sell the other three iPods on Ebay or something and use the money to get her the video one if that's what she wants. Or buy the one with the most space for her music. One or the other. There's NO need for THREE iPods!!! For anyone!

Are you crazy! what the heck does a 14 year old kid need with 3 ipods. If you want to spoil her even more than i suppose you have then go ahead and do it , but if you want to be a good parent.. don't do it.

I would take the other three from her, sell them, and then use that money to buy the video. I can't see how anyone could possibly have use for three iPods.

Buying children everything they want leads to problems in their adult life. They are less responsible. If everything is simply handed to them, why should they work hard for anything? Why would they take care of anything? Who needs three i-pods? Tell her to wait for her birthday or another gift buying holiday - or tell her to save the money and buy it herself.

I agree...why in the world would she need that many ipods?? Tell her to get a job and save her money if she really wants another one.
