As for myself I am neither one or the other, though I do like a tidy bathroom and kitchen.

I am talking tidy/untidy not clean or unclean.

They do not necessarily go hand in hand

The tidy people are just too lazy to look for things.

No I do not take tidiness to the extreme or am I grossly untidy. You have to find a happy medium not just for yourself but also your family. A house/flat needs to also be a home and a home is some where you all feel comfortable in and not on your best behaviour.
I think things should have a place and everyone responsible for putting things back in its place. You need to keep a certain amount of hygiene especially in the kitchen and bathroom.
To me my house is my home a place to chill out, put your feet up and feel comfy in and I also want anyone who visits to feel like that which they do.
So what if there is a newspaper and a coffee mug on the floor it is not life or death.

I do like a clean and tidy house. Thing is, when ever i go into a untidy house, i find myself wanting to tidy up their mess.

It is a class thing, generally you will find that the houseproud types are from the lower socio economic groups and those who can be untidy tend to be more from the upper middle classes/aristocracy level.
Obviously there are exceptions, I am quite posh and therefore somewhat untidy, my son's council house girlfriend is always tidying my place up, I am too laid back to care and have more important things to occupy my mind than worrying about what other people think etc

Unluckily, I`ve always been an unbearable perfectionist who takes tidyness to the extreme. Besides, I want everything spotless clean and tidy. Though, believe me, I`m working on it to relax a bit and enjoy other more important things.

I'm quite a perfectionist and a clean freak because I like everything to be clean and tidy, especially my bedroom. I hate clutter and so I do take tidiness to the extreme.

im untidy and proud of it - i am 100% aware of it because my mother tells me every time she visits - she tells my sister she is untidy as well though........
during a sales training course a few years back we had just been told that people are treated acording to how they dress, on the nightime i wore a tuxedo and people held doors open for me!!!!

If I tidy things up, I forget where I put them down, so that means ..... everything is in a mess.
